You can use the Debts page to keep track of money you've borrowed or lent.
A credit is when someone owes you money (e.g., you lend €100 to a friend).
A debt is when you owe money to someone else (e.g., you borrow €50 from a family member).
Credits management
When you lend money, you should create a credit.
Here's how to record it:
• On the Debts page, create a new credit entry. Enter the amount and the person you lent it to.
If you are lending money, make sure to check the "Create associated transaction" option.
This will automatically create an expense in your chosen account for the amount you lent (e.g., an expense of €100 for the money you gave your friend).
• When your friend returns the money, tap the "+" button under the credit entry. This will create an income in the associated account.
• Once the credit is fully repaid, you can archive or delete it in the credit options.
Debts management
When you borrow money, you should create a debt.
Here's how to manage it:
• On the Debts page, create a new debt entry. Enter the amount and the person or company you borrowed from.
If you want to record the money coming into your account, tick the "Create associated transaction" option.
This will automatically create an income transaction in your chosen account.
If you're registering a debt for an unpaid service, do not use the "Create associated transaction" option.
• If you are registering an existing debt, like your mortage, edit the debt and set what you've already paid.
• When you are ready to repay the debt, tap the "+" button under the debt. This will create an expense transaction, recording the money leaving your account to settle the debt.
• Once the debt is fully repaid, you can archive or delete it in the debt options.
Debts tracking
For bigger debts, it may be useful to visualize the future money movements.
You can create a scheduled debt repayment with the "+" button under the debt (or credit).
Then, press on the debt to see a chart and all the past and future transactions associated with it.
If you want to have a bigger picture, go on the "Time (Future)" charts page to see all your debts and credits future money movements.
Bank synchronization
If you have created a debt in a bank synchronized account, you have to manually link the downloaded payments to the corresponding debt.
To do that, go in transaction options. There, press on "Transform transaction".
In the opened page, select "Debt/Credit" and the target debt.
To perform this operation, the transaction must be finalized (The transaction should not be waiting confirmation from the bank).
